Screenshot software is an important tool for most people. It’s not just for taking screenshots either, you can use it for a variety of things from taking notes, annotating documents, and other reasons. There are many screenshot tools out there, but there is only one that I use. It’s Greenshot! In this blog post, I’m going to share with you my favorite screenshot software and why I love it so much.

It’s FREE
For software this good, it’s rare to be 100% free. Free Software often have annoying pop-ups or ads, this does not have any of those. Please donate to their team/project if you can.
No install required
From their website, you can download the latest version and install in on your machine. However, there are instances wherein you are not allowed to install software (e.g. Work Laptop). If you go to their version history, there is a “NO INSTALLER” Version. Simply run the executable file when you need to run Greenshot.
Easy to upload and share
After taking a screenshot and opening the image editor, there are buttons for popular and common software that makes it easy to share.
Rectangles and Arrows
If you have ever worked with me , you will find that I always use screenshots which contains rectangles and arrows. I am a very visual person and I want to ensure that my message is loud and clear. For example:
Obfuscate
I love this feature. This feature pixelates the screen to censor and hide sensitive information. This is very handy when taking screenshots of a system that may hold customer information. Simply obfuscate where needed, and it would be safe to send the screenshot after that.
